Whitchurch Business Centre Improvements
The Business Centre (formerly the e.office) is now open longer with more facilities offering better support to businesses and community groups in the Town.
The office is now open every weekday from 9am - 1pm and 2 - 5pm. Anyone needing access at other times should call 896548 and every effort will be made to accommodate. In addition to the usual Microsoft Office applications on all 3 PCs, there is a copy of the latest (only one week old) Adobe Creative Suite 4 for those with a need for creative support.
Fireworks Misery for Pets Begins
Over 2 weeks to go to Bonfire Night and already noisy fireworks are being set off which can cause misery for pets.
Advice for pet owners, whose pets can be severely upset by the noise of fireworks, is available on-line at the RSPCA's website or from Foxcotte Vets between 9 and 10am and 4 and 5pm. In extreme cases medication can be necessary.
For those letting off fireworks, why not keep them until Bonfire Night (and not beyond)? Please think of others if you want to enjoy yourselves.

Parish Hall Reopens
The newly redecorated Parish Hall was opened by Sir George Young MP. The Hall was full and the new light and airy feel was appreciated by all.
Sir George and Gill Webb, Chair of the Parish Hall Committee paid thanks to all who had helped by physical work, fund raising or even providing parking space for the skip to hold the rubbish that was cleared form the Hall.
There is still work to be done but more funds are required to continue the good work which has brought the hall back into use. To book the Hall contact Ruth Wigmore on 893512.
There's more pictures on the Hall's page.
Potholes to be fixed
Whitchurch's potholes are to be fixed during the next couple of months. Apparently there is not enough money to repair all the potholes in the county but Whitchurch, with a couple of other areas has been selected to be the first to be tackled using £1M of our money.
The work is scheduled to be completed by the end of November - then the pavements???!

Quiz Night Success
The first of, hopefully, many charity Quiz Nights was held in the Harvest Home on Thursday when over £200 was raised for the Youth Project.
Helen Rutherford, the brains behind the event, would like to thank Christine Brown for organising the excellent questions and say a big thank you to all the people who packed the Harvest Home.
The money raised was due to not just the entrance fees but the generous raffle prize donations and the winners, "The Family", kindly giving their prize back to the project.
If you are interested in this being a monthly event then let Mark, the landlord, know. |
