Bigger Competition

This year there'll be a single family competition around the "Whitchurch Fairy Tales" that you'll find in every shop, with a fantastic prize of a family ticket to the Basingstoke Anvil's Panto, Peter Pan; this has been very kindly donated by The Anvil and what's more Peter Pan himself will be along to help switch on the lights. You can download a form here - you need to fill in all to be in with a chance

The shop window displays will be as good as, if not better, than ever and a trophy will again be awarded to the best.

More Lights

There'll be many more Christmas trees with lights this year at The Dolls House in Winchester Street and all along London Road as far as The Prince Regent and they'll all be switched on by the Mayor and Peter Pan at 6pm on 1st December.

Late Night Shopping

On 1st December lots of the Town Centre shops, including the Silk Mill will be open on 1st of December so you can see the lights and buy your Christmas goodies. They'll be Christmas nibbles and drink with Christmas Cake to try.

Music

Singing for Fun will perform in front of the Town Hall before the lights are switched on and Harmony will be singing in front of the Silk Mill at 6.30pm.

...and there's more on the 1st

From 4pm there'll be a Craft Fair in the Gill Nethercott Hall and, to round off the evening, the newly refurbished Parish Hall will open with the new Jane Eyre film starting at 7.30.

And later ....

There'll be lots in and around the Town centre between 1st and 25th December including the traditional music from the Fire Brigade and ending as ever, with carols from the Salvation Army on Christmas Eve.
